USING MINDFULNESS TO STAY MORE HEALTHY AND CALM
My name is Charlie Curtis, BCH. I’ve been working with clients professionally for 35 years to help them be more relaxed and more healthy using mindfulness and other techniques. So I know from that experience that if you consume a lot of fearful news, the effect can be nerve-wracking, because of all of the fearful events being reported on right now.
And unfortunately, spending a lot of time in a stressful state is bad for your health, because prolonged stress lowers your immune response. This is because when you get afraid, you go into a state of mind called the “fight or flight” response. This is our sympathetic nervous system response, a life-saving physiological response that gets activated when something feels like an emergency.
However, this fight-or-flight physiology is designed to deal with immediate dangers like a physical attacker, so it turns off all unnecessary physiological systems while it is activated, including the immune response, and lowered immune response is not what you want when dealing with an infectious illness.
WHAT IS MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is an ancient meditation technique that, when properly performed, activates the parasympathetic nervous system response, also called the “relaxation response.” This turns off an overreactive fight or flight response, and in its place, activates a healing mode where the body can repair cell damage and finetune immune system response.
Modern proponents of the relaxation response, like the famous cardiologist Herbert Benson, a Harvard researcher, have shown through extensive research how healing this state of mind/body is when visited on a daily basis. In his books, the most recent of which is “The Relaxation Revolution,” he has a long list of illnesses, which are positively impacted by teaching the body to regularly visit this relaxing healing state of meditation.
So when you activate this “relaxation response,” instead of feeling like your only option is continuously overdosing on freaked out newscasters passing on their latest dose of fear, and therefore feeling like you need to be in a state of continuous panic, you feel calmer, like you have access to a wiser part of your self. This makes you feel like you are now able to make wiser decisions, from a state of prudence, caution, and prevention, instead of over-reacting from a state of feeling of terrified overwhelm.
WHAT DOES MINDFULNESS DO FOR YOU?
When you go deep into mindfulness, you go into a state called “Beginner’s Mind” where life seems more peaceful and relaxed, where for the moment your mind is just resting in a profoundly peaceful state, and life seems simpler, less complex. The meditation described in this program is designed to take you into as deep a state of beginner’s mind as is possible for you at any given time.
The more time you are able to spend in this healthier state, the better off you will be. When you have the natural technique of mindfulness working for you on a daily basis, you now have a tool to stay calm so that your body is more in balance, expending energy more efficiently and effectively, repairing cell damage as quickly as possible, and increasing your immune function to the best it can be under the conditions.
WHY MINDFULNESS CAN IMPROVE HEALTH
There are thousands of scientific studies that have shown that mindfulness improves health in various ways. One of the most important in the current situation is that it helps raise immune function, making it easier for your body to stay healthy.
Research performed by Dawson Church has showed that a deep meditation, especially when combined with meridian tapping on acupuncture points (EFT), dramatically raises the level of immunoglobulin, which is part of the immune system, and which is involved in neutralizing the coronavirus in the body. In one study, the level of immunoglobulin was raised 37% in a single session and when done on a daily basis for a week the level rose by 130%, which is massive.
The documents and recordings contained in this email explain everything I have just described to you in much more detail, and then will teach you a mindfulness technique called “Grounding In Essential Life” that can help you achieve this goal of being calmer and healthier. There is also a separate recording of a fast 10-minute stress reducer that you can use for “mindful first aid,” called “You Have All The Resources You Need.” This is a 10-minute breath meditation that can calm you in just a few minutes, and put you in contact with your intuitive awareness that you have all the resources you need.
